La marque de chaussures Converse a décidé d’associer une centaine artistes du monde entier afin de lutter contre cette maladie. Elle soutient PRODUCT RED, une marque créée par le chanteur de U2 Bono et Bobby Shriver (Président de Dette, SIDA, Commerce, Afrique). Les dons ne sont pas demandés. Les consommateurs achètent une paire de Converse, et les fonds sont reversés à la lutte contre le Sida, notamment des traitements à bas coûts nécessaires pour réduire le risque de VIH de la mère à l’enfant ont été financés.
Certaines converse ont été lancées en édition limitée. Quelques artistes de renom, designers et musiciens du monde entier, tels que Michael White (le frère de Dondi, le célèbre graffeur de la fin des années 70) ont créé des Converse originales et en édition limitée.
